That was the summer holiday, that was...

Albeit brief and somewhat tardy, managed to get away to South Devon for a week recently.

Lovely spot on the Yealm Estuary, with good walks, unexpected beaches and bucketfuls of rain. Only down side was the accommodation being as damp inside as the weather outside; and that's with the heating on and the electric blankets thawing out the bed.

Also, Claire has a thing about "air fresheners" and managed to collect about a dozen from various cupboards and shelves around the place. They all got put in one place, and when we were packing to leave we were nearly knocked out by all the "freshness" oozing out of the wardrobe (which we hadn't used).

Still, enjoyed trips to various NT properties - fantasise about owning Coleton Fishacre and having Noel Coward round to play the piano for our house parties. Even did the tourist bit and puttered up the Dart to Agatha Christie's place Greenway.

Burgh Island always worth a visit, and the wind clears your head every time.
